----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Maybe it is time to start
checking your cabin area for corrosion. 5644F and other Alon people are finding
corrosion behind the scat air tube into the cabin air on the side panels. At
least one other besides 44F has reported this. On our project 5624F we
found intergranular corrosion on two extrusions. 1) the extrusion behind the
motor mount (longitudinal part number 340250-000 {$10.56} and 2) the extrusion
below the canopy slide rail (closeout assy, cabin 170014-001{ not a good # by
Univair price book} The part number used
here are from M10 parts manual. My Alon manual is for the birds. It gives
little support to the airframe. All the figure pages are not in it. With a mix
of 415 numbers, Forney F-numbers and a few A-number for Alon. = Happy hunting. More to come after talk to Univair tomorrow. Yours, Warren
