My name is Jerry Frappier. I live in Afton, NY. I just bought a 1958 Forney Aircoupe that I think is in pretty mint condition. I'm a beginning pilot at age 53. I should have my license by the end of August. The only real problem I've encountered with the coupe is that I have a Univair tank conversion installed. This conversion eliminates the original system of tanks and installs a 15 gallon tank in each wing. My problem is that the left wing keeps siphoning into the right and the right wing vents into the clear blue. This only stops when I've emptied the left tank and the level in the right wing is low enough not to vent. I have a fuel flow guage telling me I'm using 5.5 gallons per hour and a typical 2 hour flight is costing me 16 gallons of gas. I'm concerned about the fire hazard of misting this much gas and I would like to know I've got enough gas to get where I'm going. Univair has yet to respond to my E-mails looking for information so I'm hoping to get some tech insight from any othe owners who've had this modification done. I'll appreciate any help or information. Thanks in advance, Jerry Frappier N7526C ==^================================================================ EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?bz8Sid.bAhN69 Or send an email To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This email was sent to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
