Hi Dan, There are a couple of simply outstanding 'Coupes that I know of in MA. First, there's Dave Abrams. He's on this list, but closer to Boston. Dave, any help here? I also know of a show quality 415 base in New Bedford owned by a fellow name Ron Donley. Ron isn't on the list much these days, but his IA/AP also looks after Ron's Baron, Waco Classic, Super Decathelon, and 1929 Leeds. So I suspect they know a thing or two. Ron Blackadar, who's based in Beverly, has an Alon that has won People's Choice at the 'Coupers convention. He does a lot of his own work, but I suspect that he could point you to somebody good in MA. Anybody on the list have Ron's number? And, in a pinch, you could come down to Connecticut where I'm based & use my AP. I have an Alon, and he's been looking after it for two years now. I wouldn't say he's a 'Coupe specialist, but he works on lots of classic planes, and is very good. Honestly, I don't think there's anything so unusual about 'Coupes. Any really good AP will do fine. Of course, the trick is to find a really good AP. I'll vouch for the quality of mine, but you might not find him cheap. Hey, the way I see it, you get what you pay for. Who's the owner of the 'Coupe you're considering? If it's the 'Coupe I'm thinking of, it's the first one I ever saw -- on my first dual cross country when I was training. It very well may be the plane that got me hooked on 'Coupes. Anyway, I'm about an hour's flight from Worcester, so if there's anything I can do to help, please feel free to contact me.
