These kind of cowardly deeds are indefenseable! There is not a single way I know of that you can bring it to a halt. Assuming the citizens allow themselves and their luggage to be virtually strip-searched, then placed in a secure holding area before boarding that could do the job. Then you post a US Marshall aboard who can kill a fly on a wall at 100 paces with his 38. He is also a black belt marshall artist. That will NOT but an end to this thing. They simply buy a GA aircraft, load it with whatever, and still do their dasterly deed! Ok, so we attempt to shut that down, then they go after our infrastructure, our rail system, our subways, airport terminals, malls, electric power stations, etc, etc, etc. So, this leaves us with applying military force and wipe the bastards out, right? Not so fast! The Arab nations are family! Good and bad stick together like glue! If we enter their country all they have to do is shut off our oil supply and and we will be DRY IN SIX WEEKS! They have the capacity to bring us to our knees and create an economic depression the likes this nation has never seen and THEY KNOW IT! Ok, we kick the enviromental loudmouths in the butt and start drilling for more oil. It would take 10 to 15 years to build that kind of infrastructure. I am begining to really HATE the news media. They are all upset that our president has not come forth with a retalition plan. For God's sake, if he did have a workable plan, would we announce it so the enemy could be waiting for us? We are in a stage of extreme anger. I know I am. But we cannot allow emotions to overpower logic! We must deal with this terror in a way that will work, not only for US but for the GOOD Arabs as well. Somehow, the Arab nations are going to have to be convinced that THEY must clean up their terrorist groups. That in itself is equal to getting the Palestines to love the Isrealites or the Protistants to love the Catholics in Ireland. We are facing some very hard times and decisions. It is NOT like Pearl Harbor. We KNEW who the enemy was. If it had a red meatball on the wings you trashed it out! If it flew a meatball flag, you sent it to the bottom. Hopefull, we have some very level-headed people in charge that will make the right decisions. Unfortunately, their past record is nothing to get excited about, regardless of political status.
