I called Skyport and talked to Lee. He said that he doubted that his boss would approve a $1400.00 investment in the decals, but would pass on the info. Lee went on to say they are very concerned with the economy and where it is going and have already incorporated some cost-saving programs. He said the last registery of Alon-A2's and A2-A's stood at about 225. That is a HUGE survival rate considering the airplane has been flying for 35 years. I next called UNIVAIR. Their position was identical to Lee's at Skyport. It appears we are on our own, or the project id DOA. The real trick now is to be able to contact all the owners of Alons and notify them of the repro decals. Post cards cost (I think) about $0.20 to mail and that adds another $40.00 to the cost. Wayne DelRossi said he would create a new Alon mailing list for FREE to help move this along. I could XEROX the 200 post cards with a message and apply the labels from FREE. That leaves the $40.00 investment in postage. I will invest that out of my own funds. The success of this project is going to be measured in the marketing response. I am still with you on this project, if all of you are in this with me and don't back down because of terrorist/economic fears, I will proceed and I am sure Wayne is with me. In conclusion, I would like to ask a HUGE favor. There is an ungodly amount of e-mail on the "Coupe" site right now that makes it difficult to sort all this out and keep it in an orderly fashion.
