Hello Mr. Grouchy! >grin< The Coupe is almost exactly 8 feet wide at the outside of the tires, however, from the outside of the rudders, it is 8 feet 4 and 1/2 inches wide. I have moved Coupes several times on a 21 foot boat trailer. I had to add about 6 inches to either side of the running boards to keep the tires of the Coupe from sliding off, but as Jon said, tie it down real well, and you won't have any problems with the Coupe on the trailer. I drop the tongue to the ground and load the Coupe from the front of the trailer using a couple of planks. You can either use another plank for the nose wheel, or have someone pull down on the tail to get the nose wheel off the ground.
