You probably caught John Wright Sr.'s lecture on `coupe corrosion, Earl.
Yeah, I felt like selling mine shortly thereafter. But he has a valid
point.
The birds are old, and there was a metalurgical flaw during the origninal
manufacture of the spar caps. Some have it bad, and others don't.
Couple that with leaving `em out in the rain, where the mice can crawl
in, and not looking `em over thououghly can do it to you. The NPRM
I'm printing out now is testamoney to that. Our best insurance, IMHO,
is to learn how to inspect the Ercoupe. It is just not all hanging out
for
you to see. Take the wings off and look inside. It is not that hard. I
had mine off last annual.
