Thanks Ed! That clears a lot of things up for me. I will try
the 9 degree limit first.
I f I can get some measurements on a spit elevator I don't think these
guys would be scared to change it
later for me.
What altitude is the 1800 ft strip you flew out of at? We are
at around 2200 ft..
What kind of brakes do you have? This one has goodyear style.
Are cleavlands that much better?
I can see where there would be a bit of a scramble after
powering up for a go around to push the wheel forward as the
trim controle is on the left side on this coupe while the throttle is on
the right!
I have not even seen the prop yet as it is removed (although
it is suppose to be in excellent shape)
but I will be checking the specs on it here soon.
One thing that bothers me about this plane is the amount
of repair to the front cowling. The plane only has 1800
original hrs on it & yet there is all this repair. It looks like they
closed off a hole in front. Any idea why?
The engine has 190 hrs on it. It last ran in 82 but the guy who had it,
pickled it properly &
when the AME pulled the jugs off, it looked just like new inside!
No corrosion anywhere in the airframe. They put the
reinforcement circles in for the swiss cheese AD
but won't cut them till the next annual.
The tail is too low but this may be because a lot of the engine
stuff is still off.
Sorry to ramble but I'm really excited about this coupe!
