Hi Dick,
7 gallons per hour is enough to produce about 78 hp. and you have all the
right parts so I think the first place I would look would be to check out
your tachometer to be sure that your power setting is what you want and
that you are not actually over revving what you intended. Next I would
check to be sure that the Carb. is the one called out for the C-85 and not
one for an 0-200. Have you looked at your spark plugs and do they indicate
that you are running very rich? If the tach. needs replacing then see what
burn you get at the right power setting. If it is still high then I would
suspect some of the internal parts in the Carb. as being the wrong parts
for this engine.

415-C has an 85hp with a cruise prop(7152)and a Marvel Schebler Carb.
It's burning 7GPH. Seems high. I lean on the ground and in the air.
What do you get?
