I think the double contact bulb has one end of the filament attached to one contact and the other end of the filament attached to the second contact and that the bulb has only one filament. My 65 Mustang has this same double contact single filament bulb for the back-up lights. The housing is plastic and requires a separate ground wire to the second contact. The brass portion of the bulb is not electrically attached to anything. So far, it doesn't strobe either! Keep flying, be safe, John __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
