  You must remove the rubber stopper and let the gear hang down,[by
jacking the plane up]  until the upper piston comes up past the filler
hole. Then fill the lower part up to the hole.  I would suggest you then
work the gear up and down several times and re-check the level.  This is
because some of the oil will go up through the orifice hole and stay in
the upper piston [with the new cup on it].   Watch your brake discs and
pads for oil.  You being CANADIAN could possibly consider using gear oil
in the mains.  It works a treat, much better damping.  [U.S. readers, do
