Hi Paul , I just got in and read your message. I sure hope you can find
out what went wrong. There have been a couple of other Coupes with this
same problem and it would be reassuring to find out what it is. Remember
the old trick of using the primer to get the engine going if it quits, the
primer will buy you quite a bit of time, I have no other ideas to suggest.
I will however admit that I am darn near paranoid about water in the fuel.
If I am the first customer of the day at an FBO I will let the first quart
go into a container at the pump to avoid condensation, I drain the sumps
on every flight, and my cap seals are new. I installed a new gascolator
because I was not happy with the old one and make sure the fuel lines are
in good shape. Even with all this I still got water in my fuel. It did not
come out of the sumps but when I jacked up one side of the plane to change
the pucks there was fuel sitting in the tank. Evidently even filling up
after every flight there is still enough condensation overnight to let
water form in the tanks. Of course a Coupe cannot be filled up because the
fuel pours out of the low wing, in my case the right one, so maybe this is
where the water is coming from. I sure hope you find out what it is,Pete.
