An entire VOR might be a bit large.

 

I used to have a VOR receiver in my coupe. Had the split antenna installed
on the bottom of the fuselage just a little forward of the horizontal
stab. The antennas pointed rearward and the tips were just past the HS.
That installation stopped people from walking into it.
