-------------------------------------- Dear Tom (sending this off-list), Guess that's the second time I've been in "off-topic" violation. Is there anything possible to distribute that would give general interpretation guidelines to forum participants as to "on-topic" vs. "off-topic", or is it just that Tom knows "off-topic" when he sees it? The Tech Forum is posted to constantly by members without general broadcast or listing by Google. Was that by chance or by design? If by design, we have the question of whether Mr. Langston's site broadcasts intentionally or inadvertently. If the latter, I would certainly apologize for my injured outrage (and he might modify his site to a more limited posting). If the former we are back to a question of behaviour acceptable among Ercoupers. None of us will live long enough to learn from personal experience all the "safe" web sites, sucker web sites, and those in between. It still seems in the common interest to share information on either extreme. While you may be a webcruiser with years of barnacles (and cynicism), there are yet many of us with bits of innocent virginity to loose even after age sixty. Your comment "You want to remain anonymous, don't post anything" was uncalled for. I regard most Ercoupers as friends, and have never sought anonymity among them or anywhere else. I'd bet a majority of coupers who have posted comments to Mr. Langston's didn't intend them to forever index and post world-wide. Following the golden rule, I tried to sound the warning I would have like to have had. Regards, -- William R. Bayne <____|(o)|____> (Copyright 2002)
