On the inside fuel gauge issue, it seems that the general consensus is to
cap
the darn thing and put on wing tank gauges. This would solve the fuel
smell
problem. Tom mentioned that he could not see the gauge on the right wing.
>From my experience, it seems that the burn is about equal on both tanks so
why
not use a gauge on the left tank only? I also like the idea of just using
the
header tank gauge because , after all, if we are good coupe drivers we
should
be planning all aspects of the flight including fuel management. Isn't
there a
FAA rule about having accurate fuel gauges on all tanks?
