Jerry,

You are right about landing as slow as possible..... I try to land short
and
slow, and to never use the Goodyear brakes. I find the Goodyears just
fine,
if you plan ahead and don't have to really clamp down..... just trained
that
way, I guess.

Of course one should always land the coupe - or any other airplane with
the
nose wheel still in the air - landing on the mains, etc....on in a three
point
position in a tail dragger. Be careful in using the term "three point", as
it
can mean on all three ---tricycle landing gear to some people, instead of
as
in a Cub. I made this mistake with a young instructor, and after
demonstrating
several landings to him, I let him land the coupe. I reminded him to land
in a
three point position as we came down final. Just as we were about to touch
down, he pushed the wheel forward, to land in the three point position (
on
all three ) ! I caught the airplane quickly, we hit pretty hard, but did
no
damage. I blame myself for using termonology that was confusing to this
young
Instructor pilot....... Really never occured to me he would think
otherwise
than landing on the mains, etc....So, be fore-warned when letting other
pilots
fly the Coupe.

Fly Safe - Have Fun
