Greetings; I finally found a solution to the fuel overflow problem when the fuel pump valve is left in the on position. I had the mechanic check the fuel overflow lines as suggested by this group. They checked out ok. Next was the pump. It is the right one and has restrictors on the orifices. Flew it again after mechanic did his thing and it seemed to work ok until landing. Upon pulling back the throttle here comes the fuel, out the top and over the cowling. Nice feature. Back to the mechanic. He can't find anything wrong with it. Talked to Skyport. The rep there stated that the input line to the pump should not be restricted and the output should be restrictd. Upon hearing that I ordered both the input and output. The two restrictors that were in the airplane were larger than the one restrictor from Skyport. The mechanic installed the new ones and super overflow! Upon checking we found that Skyport sent us a restricted INPUT and a non-restricted OUTPUT orifice. You can't switch them because they are different shapes and to do so would put the output fuel line in the path of the prop. Solution? Mechanic heated the input orifice to break the glue, then thredded the output orifice and screwed/glued the restrictor into the output orifice. Test flew the Ercoupe and problem solved.
