FYI,

It is common practice for the Van's RV airplanes to take a block of wood
and
mallet and gently tap on the trailing radius of the aileron to correct
"heavy" wings.

Subject: Wing Heavy Coupe

>This morning, per the advice given on this coupers mailing list and the
>service manual, my coupe was changed from a coupe that would roll to the
left
>at cruise at a rate of approx. 3 Degrees/sec to one that tracks straight
ahead
>hands off. All it took, as many of you told me, was a microscopic
downward
>bend along the entire trailing edge of the right aileron. The bend was
so
>slight that I wasn't at all sure that we had even bent it, but the
results
>were dramatic! I AM NOW A BELIEVER!! Thanks for the advice! Ron
