Subject: NOISE CERTIFICATES
Date: vrijdag 13 november 1998 10:12 (UTC+1)

Dear all

In our country (the Netherlands) as well as Germany and other W-European
countries, the authorities are working on noise certificates for all
aircraft. Based upon the noise production, an aircraft might be banned
from
the air at certain times near the more dense areas. These noise
certificates
are based upon ICAO standards.

Is there any information available on the noise production of the various
Coupes, both the Ercoupe, Alon, Forney and Mooney types? The measurements
can be in accordance with ICAO Annex 16 Chapter 6 (when the noise
production
of all aircraft is measured during straight and level flight (75% cruise
power) at
950ft or in accordance with ICAO Standard 16 Chapter 10 (measurement
during
t/o at 2,500 meters from the beginning of the runway and the a/c flying
full
power at best climb speed).

Just let me know, the information is necessary for deciding if I should
add
an (extra) silencer in the exhaust pipe. By the way, are there any STC's
known on such modifications?

Looking forward to your reactions.
Kind regards,

Coert Munk

Addition of today: I just found information on the ww-net from the LBA
(German FAA):
Erco 415D/E/F1A C90 engine and McCauley 1B90 prop, indicating 69,8dB(A)
according to Ch.X
