I am getting ready to install new welts on my project. The allowance
within the aluminum channel for the window welt and sliding window seems
considerably more than is needed. It seems that by allowing the plexi to
ride to the inside of the curve on this arcing channel , that it is
sloppy
and also unnecessary drag is being created.

Why not add a filler on the bottom, forcing the sliding window more to the
outside of the canopy. I also thought that by adding a strip of material
to
the back of the channel, this would allow one to use a hole punch on
this
filler material making allowance for the protruding screwheads and rivets.

Would this not offer a window a freer run plus extend the live of the
window
welt?

Any suggestions or comments?

Thank you
