I have recently joined the e-mail group and I am looking for a pair of wing tanks for my 1966 Alon Aircoupe. My tanks have a corrision problem from sitting empty for the past 8 years and before I paint the plane I would like to replace the wing tanks. Leaks are not a real problem, I am looking for a pair that are not all beat to hell and back. If anyone has a pair of wing tanks or knows someone who does please let me know.
This problem was caused by letting the plane sit for years with car gas in the tanks and when it evaporated the moisture fromed in the tanks, the rubber fuel lines dissolved from the inside out and the carb was one big stuck up mess.
