First of all, I would like to thank everybody
for their contributions to the mailing list over the last year, there was some
valuable information in there which greatly assisted me. After much
searching, (internet, newspapers, magazines and my soul) I have found and
purchased an Ercoupe restoration project. It's a 1946 415C SN 1239. My son
and I loaded her onto a snowmobile trailer and hauled her 3 hours to the
shop. With any luck, my AME will have her flying by the time the snow
melts up here in the great white north.
The biggest problem (so far) is in the right
wing - we need at least 3 nose ribs and one wing tip bow - there was substantial
corrosion damage due to those dang mice, messy mini rats that they are. I
know Univair has them (the parts, not sure on the mice) but I also know what
they're asking for that flimsy piece of aluminum shaped like a big banana.
(Nuts!) If there is anyone out there who can help I'd appreciate any
suggestions. Surely somewhere there is a great Ercoupe
boneyard....
Thanks again,
