Wayne, while you're checking all the other cables people will tell you to
check,
make sure the engine is grounded, probably with a wide braided cable, to
the 
mount.  If this isn't done, all the current has to flow by other means,
like 
through the throttle and carb heat cable, primer line, etc.

It's happened before, sometimes the pilot will notice that the throttle 
control is hot, from the current.
