My coupe has no shimmy.
But for what's worth...
Slop in the steering will allow an OUT OF BALANCED tire to oscillate or
shimmy under certain conditions. Ditto for mains.
Fixing either can\might stop it, but fixing both problems is the proper
way to go. A well balance tire will extent the life of the tire,
steering and suspension components.... and it feels good too! ;)

Forcing yourself to land with the yoke ALL THE WAY BACK - all landings
should be less than 60mph unless you just landed DOWNWIND....... <g>

Happy landings,
Bob Urban
