Jack--
We repaired my header tank on my Coupe (ser. no. 1519) using a
large
electric soldering iron and had no problems. We cleaned the surfaces to
be soldered completely and then soldered. We did not put anything
inside the tank. When finished we painted a soap and water solution on
the outside and pressurized the tank with the exhaust end of a shop
vacuum cleaner to check for leaks. No problems. No real cost, except
for some solder.
