I just got back from Arlington 98. We had pretty good turnout of coupes
there, probably about 10 different coupes showed up, but not all at the
same
time.

I had a chance to meet Percy for the first time, and we managed to find
enough of each other to eat together. Arlington seems to get bigger and
bigger each year. I have no idea how many planes were there, but there
were
so many that I felt like I really didn't see many of them.

An interesting side note was that one guy stopped by, and while admiring
my
coupe told me he had one too, but his main plane was a Velocity.
Actually,
he OWNED Velocity the COMPANY! and flew his coupe for kicks.

The first day the weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold. As the
days went on, it got colder and the ceilings lower, until on Sat when I
left
it was IFR and then scud until about 3, at which time things lifted up to
about 2500.

The camping was fun, I met lots of new coupers, and the flying was fun
too!
I now have a small taste of Oshkosh, and I didn't have to fly 1600 miles
for
it!
