Hello Coupers List!

I am a new subscriber, seeking information on warcoupes. I am specifically
interested in the PQ-13, U.S. Army Air Corps (USAAC) designation for an
Ercoupe 415-C, aerial target tug, serial number 41-39099, powered by an
O-300 engine. Am also looking for information on the YO-55, USAAC
designation for an Ercoupe 415-C, experimental observation aircraft,
serial
number 41-18875, powered by a YO-170-3 engine. The USAF Museum web page
describes use of the YO-55 for rocket-assisted take-off (RATO) testing in
1941. It gives no information about the PQ-13. The YO-55 pictured is in
the
distance. Paint scheme and national emblem style are not visible.

I want to correspond with anyone who knows about the role Ercoupes played
in WWII. I have heard some were given to the Civil Air Patrol for sub
spotting duty along the coasts. Any information about the PQ-13 and/or
YO-55, references to where I might find pictures of them or books that
mention them, or referrals to persons who might have flown or worked with
these aircraft would be appreciated.

Am looking forward to being a part of the Ercoupe discussion on this list.
Judging by message traffic this date, you folks up in Arlington,
Washington, sound like you're headed for a great time this weekend!

regards to all,
Steve
