Fellow coupers: My Alon is coming up for its first annual under my ownership. I've gone through the last year's EOC publications, the Maintenance Manual, and Parts Manual and still have some questions. The very complete inspection checklist in the EOC monthly news includes an item on the main landing gear neither in the manual nor in any AD's or Service Bulletins and I'm wondering whether any of you actually do it.
Main landing gear - One suggested step in the EOC checklist is greasing the Belleville springs. I guess you would have to disassemble the strut in order to get between them to grease them. Does anyone really do this? The Maintenance Manual specifically says that there is no maintenance. When filling the shock strut, the Manual says "full extension, including removal of the rubber cushions." Is that what everyone does? Thanks for your advice... David A-2 #035 N6359V
