In answer to inquiry about C-75 vs C-85. I accidently deleted the question.
This conversion involves changing the venturi from 1 - 5/16 to 1- 3/8", and replacement of the main jet - from #46 to #45, installing a prop and cooling fairing + running the engine to 2575 RPM. Mine is a C-85, - many coupes have been changed. I'm not sure I would change it , today. You do get higher HP, but at an increased RPM, which wears the engine out sooner ??? If you fly from low altitude field, I would question the value of the change. Prop cost alone is $700 + for a used one ! Bottom line - It sounds good to have a higher rated HP, but I think the truth is that you really don't gain sufficient increase in performance unless you run the engine at the higher RPM - more noisy and burns more fuel, and oil. If you need additional performance - you might consider the 0-200 conversion. Again, you will see increased take off and climb performance - very little additional speed, if any - due to the tremendous increase in drag as the speed goes up.( by the cube ???) - so maybe you get 2/3 mph increase ??? Fly Safe - Have fun ! Harry 93530 BCB
