Hey folks! Just thought I'd tell you about the Concrete, WA Flyin which was this weekend. The weather was predicted to be gross all week, but when time came to look out the window, it was sunny with some clouds at 4000, so off we went!
This was my first time to Concrete, and I was suprised at how many planes were there. Concrete is a tiny little town at the foot of Mt. Baker and North Cascades Nat. Park. There were probably 200+ planes there. There were around 5 coupes that I saw, and a whole slew of RV-X's. There must have been 30+ RV's. There was even these 3 guys in RV's that were flying tight formation and obviously having a great time! Some of the cool planes that were there was a Grumman Albatross, (what a big plane) a Grummen Widgeon, a handful of war planes, ultralights, antiques, etc. People were camping on the field, and it seemed to be the first real flyin of the season. I tried to find other ercoupe pilots which may be on coupers, but no-one that I talked to had email accounts, so they were not members. I kind of forget that there are people out there that still don't have email! <grin> At any rate, it was a good time, beutiful day, and fun flying! -Tom Laird-McConnell N87405 Bellevue, WA
