Hello Coupers:
We are having a problem with a persitant fuel leak where the
t-fitting fits into the main fuel valve. This fitting has a tapered
thread, and is really loose until it appears to bottom out in the valve.
To clarify, this is the T-fitting for the primer line. After placing
some teflon tape on the threads of the fitting, the leak appears to have
stopped. Is this a good material to use in this situation?
We have tried to get a new fitting, only to find that Univair no
longer supplies it. Is there any other source that we could get one
from, or do you think that our fix will do fine? I would really like to
get this settled, as I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling smelling gas in
the cockpit!
