Ed, I thought your answers were proper and correct. His "correction" about "Sig over Gross" has merit -- in that NO airplane should ever be flown over allowable gross weight, or out of the weight & Balance envelope, except by a test pilot testing new design configurations.
I understand your concern - I have posted to the list the fact (I think a fact) that many people may be flying 415 CDs at greater than 1260 lbs, and getting away with it. Only the 415 D, and Forney F1 are certified for 1400 lbs (certified means that the airplane has been found to be safe at that weight); and with the F1A, Alons, and Mooney Cadets at 1450 lbs gross. (I don't know if the 0200 STC changes the allowable gross). As in all designs there is probably a "safety margin" - but I don't plan to be the test pilot determining these limits. It is a shame that people want to push the limits - often not recognizing the unknown area they are entering. The Ercoupe is probably the safest airplane ever produced - but people still find ways to exceed their safe limits. Hey folks, lets fly safe - Stay within the limits. The most dangerous thing about an airplane is the "loose nut" behind the wheel. Fly Safe - Have Fun Harry Francis 93530 BCB
