Howdy, List. The Oregon Ercoupe Erforce met today at Annies. This is the swell eating establishment owned by John and Erin Hsu. Located on Independence Airport, a 3,000 foot strip in the northern Willamette Valley, it is the perfect place to fly for that hundred dollar hamberger.
John had sorta expected ten or fiften `coupers to show up. Was he suprised (as was Bob Saville and I) when 25 made it in the door. That's in addition to his regular clientele. Quite a room full. We were kidding John about when he is going to expand! I met Charles Rosenfeld there. He is the guy that had the unfortunant engine failure in his Ercoupe. He did a great job putting it into a (very muddy) field. He has taken the wings off of his plane, and has it at Independence. I got some pictures, which I plan to put on the `Coupe Gallery (www.hevanet.com/pwood/couphome.htm) when I get them developed. Like Gen. Rosenfeld says, "it is the best bird to be in when the gremlins are out!" He will be working with Larry Kruljac to get his bird back into the air. They do not know why the engine quit. I'll keep in touch, though. I also met Ron from Snohomish. He came down for his L-O-N-G cross country, on his way to his way to his private pilots liscence. He had got up with us through the Internet. Sure is nice to put faces with all the names. We will have a full listing of persons attending on our page - www.hevanet.com/pwood/couphome.htm Percy in Portland
