For all you Coupers not aware of it, the OACAC has a great get-together
every two years and tours the northwest for a week. Two years ago they
had
a great tour with many different kinds of very interesting aircraft
participating; I saw Interstates, Aeroncas, Cubs, Cessna 140s, a beautiful
Cessna Skymaster, Bellanca 14-13, Stinsons etc. etc. The one bad thing
about
the tour was that I was the only one who showed up in an Ercoupe and
unfortunately had to drop out due to an oil temp problem on the first day.
I hope to do better this year.
The itenerary for this years tour is:

- Meet at Cottage Grove, OR evening of July 18th for registration and
Saturday night get-together and dinner .
- Depart Sunday 7/19 AM.
- R.O.N. Sunday PM at John Day, OR.

        fueling choices along the way)

         nearby.)

          fueling choices along the way.)
- R.O.N. Wednesday PM at Packwood, WA
(a flight of approximately 140 "around the hills"
miles. NO SERVICES on site, but alternate
           fuel along the way.)
- MID-DAY FINISH - Thursday AM - Tillamook, OR
(a flight of approximately 135 miles with interim
            fueling choices along the way.)

Both camping and lodging will be available at all sites, but accomodations
do fill up quickly in the smaller areas so the committee urges you to
register quickly. Registration costs $20 (each adult) for 0ACAC members
and $20 (each adult) plus $10 per family for OACAC membership. For more
information call Hal Skinner, Tour Chairman, at 541-746-3387.

I think it would be great if several Coupes would show up for this and
could
fly in a very lazy formation between sites. Hope to see many of you at
Cottage Grove on the 18th.
                                           Dan N93775
