When I first bought my coupe I thought it was a typical nice easy plane to
fly, much like my Cherokee or Tri pacer but with no rudder pedals. I read
all the old ads from the 40s raving about at last here was a plane that
was
easy to fly one Joe average could fly with little instruction etc.etc. I
had no appreciation of how great a change this was until I bought a C170
two
weeks ago and started taking taildragger lessons. My first hour I was
every
which way except straight down the runway, the second hour was a little
better but now I appreciate what a breakthrough the Ercoupe was back in
1946 when everything else was a taildragger.
