Jack Lewis, et al; I too am interested in a digital tach, although my current tach seems ok. I had even given thought to installing an RMI u'encoder (multifunction: tach, airspeed, altimeter, VSI) as a "backup" device, and install it in place of the Vertical Speed Indicator. I have since found that I rely on the visability of the green arc a lot since I often fly on the slow side of it, particually when trying to get slow enough for pattern work. I know some of the digital tachs include a color coded mechanism, but I don't know how they work (still hoping to see some at Sun&Fun). I will be interested in getting info on your decision process as you gather info. Likewise, I think all of us will be interested in any imput from anyone else with experience.
