Note from Percy. Hey folks, can't send a message with the word "u n s u b

getting this changed.

Howdy, List.
Haven't had anything all week, so I will assume every one is just out
flying and not HACKing (Hanging Around Computer Keyboards). It was a
good day for such in Portland, Oregon.

2129H and I did get into the pattern at Pearson today. Got in 5
fairly good landings. I needed the practice, for the pattern altitude
there is 1000 feet, while at Evergreen (where I was) it is 600!.

I did check the rig on the airplane. Question: How many bags of wood
stove pellets does it take to keep the tail of an Ercoupe down? 3 - at
40 pounds each! I then checked the wheel in the straight up position and
measured the aelerons. The left one was down a half of an inch, the right
one was up less that an eighth. Not much. But it still turns the plane
a bit. Can't fly "hands off." Will be trying to correct.

And I redeemed myself today. Put the left position light (the red one,
for you non-naughtical types) lens back on. Got TWO new bulbs - from the
local service station, no less. $3 for both, plus tax (WA state sales).
"Ground checked OK," as they say in the Air Force. Now, I'm not planning
any night work. Except walking Honey, my dog and some times flying
companion. She had fun today. Woof!

    Percy
