ERCO - Ercoupe 1937 - 48 Sanders - Ercoupe, July 1948 Universal Aircraft Industries - Univair - Ercoupe 1950 - April 1955 sold to Forney Forney - Aircoupe, 1955, Fort Collins, Colo.; became Fornaire in 1959, bankrupt 6/60 City of Carlsbad /Air Products, Inc. - Aircoupe (Carlsbad coupes) June, 1960 to Dec 62. Alon Aircoupe - March 16, '64, at Carlsbad, then moved to McPherson, Ks., Mooney purchased the aircoupe from Alon in Oct ,'67.became Mooney Cadet A-2A, moves production to Kerrville, Tx. late 1968. First single tail Mooney M-10 flew on 2/23/68 - did away with limited elevator travel, and added stall strips. Now the "Ercoupe" could stall and spin! Mooney goes bankrupt 2/17/69, is acquired by Butler.Sold Ercoupe rights back to Univair in October 1974.
