Completed the 0200 switch today except for one problem which I will go into later. I did the switch myself with the assistance of a proper mechanic to sign off the paperwork.
Started at 9:00 Thursday AM Had the cowl off and the engine ready to remove by 10:00 spent next two hours getting the 0200 ready to remove from the Cessna 150 by 2:00 pm had the 0200 bolted in place. spent next two hours on the tedious job of placing the baffles in and around the Cylinders ( you reuse the old baffles from the C85) This was the most difficult part of the job. Spent Friday morning finishing up, connecting the wires, and cables exhaust etc.. Test ran the engine before noon. what a thrill to pull the starter and have the engine start and all the gauges work. Everything fits and the stc is complete all parts supplied were correct for my plane. had to change the mixture control from the left side of the engine to the right side. when hooked up the same as the C85 mixture control was reversed. Here is my one problem upon reassembly we found that the right side exhaust pipe would not bolt in place it is slightly warped. Warped I guess to fit the warpage that occurs after many years of operation. anyway we had to remove the pipe and make a template using the 150 exhaust pipe for a pattern, missed getting to the welding shop by ten min so will have to wait until Monday to have the flanges on the pipe turned so no flying this weekend. Anyway the swap took me about a day and a half with help and this included the time spent removing the 0200 from the cessna. So now I have a good 0200 in my coupe and a good C85 with prop for sale $2900.00 Will tell you how it flies next week I hope. Glenn Anderson
