Harry, N5663F has Clevlands installed. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 01, 2001 10:57 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [COUPERS] Late nite excitement.. Anthony, the Goodyeasr brakes were not ment to stop the airplane, I believe... The original disc is too thin. On heating up under hard braking, the disc warps, kicks off the lock clips, and this locks up the wheel.... Solution: use them only lightly; or replace the discs with the thicker 172 discs. from ElReno @ ~ $30.00 each.....and possibly use a slightly thinner puck from Barry Jay Aviation @ $3.00 each... or change to Clevelands... Clevelands seem to lock up from corrosion., but most people prefer them as parts are available.....
