I want to thank everyone for all the advice I got to my questions. It pays to check with those who have "been there-done that". I'm hoping to be a coupe owner in the near future. This site has been a great help: I've downloaded and read all the advice articles and am using the annual check-list as a guide for pre-purchase inspections - before I get a mechanic to do a thorough inspection. I'm looking at several differnet coupes for sale. The long distance inquiries are especially difficult. Any advice on the "process" of buying a coupe - especially long distance would be appreciated. for instance, how do you fairly evaluate the plane? when should you get to the point of a Pre-purchase inspection? How do you locate a decent mechanic several states over?
