Despite the numerous arguments back and forth, the basic question of whether or not the figure given in the Ercoupe maintenance manual is way too tight or not was never answered. If there was a definitive answer then I missed it and would like a repeat. I asked the staff at the A & P school I am attending for an opinion and I got an answer expressing surprise at the tension, and that it "seemed excessive". I had reason to talk to Lee at Skyport and he said that the figure was a misprint and it should read in "inch pounds". This made no sense to me at all since the tensionmeter reads tension and not torque. An inch pound reading is a torque reading. I did not clarify this with Lee unfortunately. So If the figure is correct I guess I'll have to add a bunch of bucks to my A & P Tool box for a heavy duty tensionmeter. :-) Cheers: Paul N2273H __________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________ T O P I C A -- Learn More.
