Well, it's just that for what it was going to cost me to comply with all
the
AD's on the Bendixae (So what's the plural of Bendix?) I could have
converted
twice. And if I kept the Bendixes, I'd still have recurring ADs! So I
gave
in and converted to Slicks. No AD's and loose a few lbs of ugly fat to
boot!

As far as the nose seal goes, not to much to say. It's a little tight,
but
there's plenty of room to do the job. The trick is to clean the bore in
the
case real good, then juggle adhesive on the outside and lubrication on the

seal side. Make sure the spring is correctly positioned, and the spring
"joint" doesn't align with the seal joint, and the seal joint is at 10:00
or
2:00 (o'clock). Start the joint in a little ahead of the rest so that it
gets forced together. Seems to me there's a slinger on the crank behind
the
seal that should keep the majority of the oil away from it. Make sure the

oil has a way to drain back from the back side of the seal. Lastly,
excess
crankcase pressure will make it leak.
