Welcome aboard, Forrest. Please excuse the past few days blather over the recently wrecked Ercoupe. Those episodes (the nasty exchanges) can occur, but infrequently. We generally maintain a civil discourse but, like any public internet web site, we're made up of all kinds. Do take the disclaimer to heart. There is good and not so good opinions and info shared here. When in doubt, check with someone you know and trust, like your instructor or other mentors. As for purchasing a good 'Coupe, joining the Ercoupe Owners Club is a good first step. Also, navigate yourself over to Ed Burkhead's web page for the best single point source for nearly all of the info you'll need. I found it invaluable. And finally, don't be shy about contributing your own 2 cents. BFRs not withstanding, newly/currently trained pilots have much to offer to those of us who were certified long ago.
