There isn't an O-ring in there (believe it or not). Take the valve off
and either A) have it disassembled, cleaned and reassembled by your local A &
P mechanic or B) take it apart yourself and clean the mating surfaces and
reassemble with an appropriate "fuel valve lube". The lube is VERYspecific
and only use a little bit. In my case, I used a product from United called
"EZ Turn". Some homebuilder or willing mechanic will give you enough to do
your job... (About a teaspoon) instead of you having to buy a full can.
I disassembled mine, cleaned it and surfaced the mating surfaces with
valve lapping compound. then reassembled the works. Make sure to note the
location of the valve handle since it can go back together with the lever
hitting the tank if reasembled 180 degrees bass-ackwards.
