----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----I'd love to hop into a time machine and teleport back to 1946 and the Erco
factory. WOW... can you imagine what a bustling place that was? I can see all
the workers taking pride in what they do, many coming home from the war and
others having worked hard for the war effort building airplanes for Uncle
Sam. Over there is the airfield with all the ercoupes lined up wing to wing.
The test pilots working full steam to meet the delivery deadlines. I wonder
if any of these workers spent any time talking about the things we talk about
on here. "Ya know Mac, I was talkin to one of the pilots over in flight test,
and they were telling me that these little buggers can have a good deal of
sink when getting slow coming over the wires... you hear anything about
that?" I'd love to whisper into the ear of one the fellas building ol'
NC2417H ..."put an extra bit of energy into that one pal, I'll be flying her
in 53 years". I imagine with all the patriotism and pride around 1946, this
place would make me proud to be an American.
