Sounds like the stainless steel skin that completes the firewall over
the forward cowling.  If you have this piece of metal it should have
come with directions (I bought mine from Univair and it did).  This part
is necessary to a part of teh conversion to a -D model (and 1400 gross)

It is not an AD.  It is part of the type certificate for the D model
(and should require a 337 I think).
