The life expectancy of Ceconite is about 15 years, depending on sun
exposure, etc. A much more
important concern is what's under the covering. Make sure the wing
inspection holes have been cut for
the wing corrosion A.D. Get a good mechanic to look in and check for
corrosion along the spars and
ribs. Quite a few Ercoupes have been grounded due to the presence of
intergranular corrosion found in
the bottom main spar cap. Beware.
