----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- My, my, this is really turning into a woman bashing thread! Did you ever think that a WOMAN may feel the same way you guys do? If ANY man told me I couldn't fly, or own my plane.....well, that would be a little too much controlling for me and it would be so long Charlie. That's why I married a pilot that has 5 planes. LOL! Most of the bills I didn't even know about as I made the terrible mistake of letting 'her' handle the bills. I'm still working on it, but that light at the end of the tunnel is getting pretty big. Do you think I'll ever let another woman into my life? NO WAY!!!!! (Or so it says here in fine print anyway.) I come and go as I please, do as I please, buy, sell or rent what ever I please and don't have to argue about it with anyone. Oh, and on the subject of buying a good, flying coupe or a basket case.....I see some good replies on both sides. Lot's of people just enjoy restoring old cars, motorcycles, airplanes, etc. To them a basket case is a new challenge. (As long as they don't plan on using it for several years. Now, on the other hand, if you are in a hurry to get it flying then the best thing to do is buy a good 'flying' coupe and spend your time in the air instead of working on it, it's also cleaper in the long run). That's the route I went and I wouldn't sell mine today for triple what I paid for it. I bought mine in 1986 when the previous owners wife told him to sell it or she was leaving. (IMHO he made the wrong choice but I'm sure glad he did.) I got a tremendous bargain on a freshly restored coupe (and the hangar) and he's still stuck with the wife. Who got the best of that deal??????? :-))))))))))) Sorry ladies of this fine group if I've stepped on some toes, but facts are facts. Those are mine, and right or wrong, I'm stuck with them......... A true story.
