What if the cockpit area was a secure area prior to boarding passengers, or crew, and was an autonomous area with its own combination Stew, Security Guard, Janitor, and handyman. which would leave the flight crew to do their job without contact with the passenger area. Course, you couldn't push back or start up without depressing the brake, fastening all the seat belts, and closing all the doors!
